Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened and changed inside your browser, so it never leaves your device. You can even switch off Wi-Fi after the page loads.
Why is the text empty?
The PDF is probably a scan: its pages are photos of text. OCR, which reads text from pictures, is coming soon.
