How to make your signature

  1. Choose Draw and sign in the box with your finger, mouse or stylus. Not happy? Undo the last stroke or Clear.
  2. Or choose Type, enter your name and pick a handwriting style.
  3. Pick black or blue ink, then Download PNG. The image is cropped to your signature and is three times screen size, so it stays sharp when printed.

To place it in Word or Google Docs, insert the PNG as a picture and set text wrapping to “In front of text” so you can move it onto the line. Signing a PDF directly will be our Sign PDF tool, coming soon.

Frequently asked questions

Is a signature image legally binding?

It depends on the country and the document. Many everyday forms accept a pasted signature image, but contracts, bank and government documents may need a handwritten or certified digital signature. Check with the organisation that asked for it.

Why is the background transparent?

So the signature sits cleanly on any page, over lines or a coloured form, without a white box around it. If a form rejects transparent images, tick White background before you download.

Is my signature uploaded anywhere?

No. The drawing and the PNG are made in your browser and never sent to us. Nothing is kept after you close the page.
